There is something very special about paddling in the snow, especially on a river like the James in Richmond. Very seldom do you have the James River Park to yourself. The park accompanies high levels of traffic year round; but when it snows, chances are good there will be less people venturing along the walking paths and trails. It is quit and peaceful. Seeing the snow blanket the rocks and the surrounding forest is unique from river level and a view that few can describe. ‘Snowed Out’ was an attempt to show how beautiful kayaking can be in the winter time. We hope you enjoy it!
It should be noted that the individuals paddling in ‘Snowed Out’ are well versed in river safety and are highly skilled in whitewater activities. Please be safe if you choose to paddle in these conditions.
